For the potential house buyer, we strongly recommend the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) Homebuyer Survey and Report service.  This is designed to assist the buyer to make a reasoned and informed judgement as to whether or not to proceed with the purchase of a particular home.  The Survey includes not only observations on the condition of the property but also recommendations as to appropriate remedial works, should any be necessary, and advice in respect of the current open market value and the value of the property for insurance/reinstatement purposes.
